These
activities are held under the Department of Students' Welfare,
SNDT Women's University, Mumbai. The activities held are in alignment
with the vision and mission of the University. It includes mainly
cultural activities in performing arts i.e. acting, dancing, music;
and fine arts like drawing, painting collage and rangoli making;
and literacy events like debate, elocution, and essay writing.
All
these activities provide a platform to the student to display
their talents. This helps to enhance the overall [personality
of the students. Following activities are organised by the Youth
Forum:-
Elections for the Students' Council:
Students
with qualities of leadership participate in this election
procedure. They learn the art of campaigning and get acquainted
with the election procedure. The General Secretary, so elected,
is eligible to be a member of University Students' Council. |

Leadership
Camps:
Two
leadership camps are arranged by Dept. of Students' Welfare
- one at Deolali near Nashik, and one at Juhu Campus, Mumbai.
This is to develop a sense of positive leadership in our
students. This is useful to develop the students' overall
personality, and also improve their communication skill.
These camps help the students to lead their group at the
college level. |

Yuva Mahotsav:
This is the mega-event arranged by the Department. Our college participates
actively and wins a number of prizes. The panel of judges is eminent and hence
the students are critically evaluated. We have been constantly bagging lot
of prizes in different events over the last few years.
Spectrum:
This is the annual cultural event of the college. Various competitions are
held e.g. dance - group and solo, music - classical and western, and group
and solo; music - vocal and instrumental, one act play, mono-acting, mimicry,
debate, general knowledge quiz, elocution, drawing, collage making etc. Sports
events are also conducted. Variety entertainment programme organised by outside
agencies for our students. Prize distribution ceremony is also held. Students
faring well in curricular and extra-curricular activities are felicitated. "Best
All-Round Student" is selected. Special appreciation prizes are given
to students doing good work in the field of NSS etc
.
Inter-collegiate drama
Participation in inter-collegiate drama
competitions like Purushottam and Fierodiya Karandak. Our
students also participate in Veru,
Mood-Indigo, etc. Tejaswini Contest:
This is a prestigious contest held by Dept. of Students' Welfare at Mumbai.
All the affiliated and conducted colleges participate. From all these students,
the best all-rounder student is selected.
Placement Cell:
Since
last year, the Department has started a placement cell
to offer students job opportunities. The department will
be
holding workshops on "Personality Development" and "English
Language Development Programme" to prepare the students
for the job interview. |
